Indian Equity Markets End Higher for the Second Consecutive Session: Indian equity markets ended higher for the second consecutive gain. The domestic equity markets opened higher in the morning session and extended gains but the indices gradually moved downwards as the session progressed but closed with decent gain. The sentiments were subdued as the Indian rupee hit a fresh record low against the US dollar on Friday.

Key Equity Markets Highlights: Sensex and Nifty Gain Momentum

The key equity benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty, finished higher by 226.59 points or 0.29% and 63.20 points or 0.27%, respectively. The Nifty index closed above 23,800. Pharma, auto, and FMCG shares were the gainers while selling pressure was witnessed in metal, public sector banks, and realty. 

In the broader markets Nifty midcap index was down by 0.27% while the Nifty smallcap index gained 0.15%. The market breadth was slightly on the positive side, 1222 shares were in advance and 1159 shares declined on NSE. The NSE volatility index “India VIX” fell 5.68% to 13.24.

New IPO Listing Today:

Five new companies got listed today on the BSE and NSE. On their debut, the newly listed companies gained 18% to 159%.

Shares of One Mamata Machinery are listed at Rs 600 on the BSE and NSE, a premium of 146.91 percent over its issue price of Rs 243. The shares hit the 5 percent upper circuit, closing at Rs 629.95, marking a 159.23 percent gain.

DAM Capital Advisors was listed at Rs 392.90 on the BSE, a 38.83 percent premium to its issue price of Rs 283. Later the stock was up 61.44 percent to Rs 456.90 before ending the day at Rs 415.05, up 47 percent.

The third IPO Concord Enviro Systems Ltd also made a strong debut,  its shares listed at Rs 832 on the BSE, up 18.68 percent from the issue price of Rs 701. The stock later settled at Rs 830.35, reflecting an 18.45 percent rise on the NSE.

The yarn manufacturer Sanathan Textiles, initially saw a 31 percent gain, listing at Rs 422.30 on the NSE compared to its issue price of Rs 321. However, the stock slipped during the day and closed later at Rs 393.90.

Shares of Transrail Lighting Ltd opened at Rs 590 on the NSE, a 36.57 percent premium to its issue price of Rs 432. The stock surged to Rs 604 and later closed at Rs 554.50.
